The Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (“DGEIS”) for the Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the Northeast Ramapo Development Plan and Comprehensive Plan Update of Town-wide Existing Conditions and Code Amendments for Northeast Ramapo (the “Action”)has been deemed complete by the Town Board of the Town of Ramapo, filed and circulated to interested/involved agencies and others who have requested it. The DGEIS is available for review athttp://www.ramapo.org/and at the Town Clerk’s office at the address below and at Finkelstein Memorial Library, 124 Chestnut Street, Spring Valley, New York.
NOTICE OF SEQRA PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The Town Board will receive written public comment until September 30, 2021 Comments may be submitted to the Town Clerk at the address below or by email no later than 4:00 PM on that date. In particular, involved agencies should provide comments reflecting their concerns, jurisdictions and any necessary environmental analysis required for the DGEIS to be adequate to support their SEQRA findings.
NOTICE OF SEQRA HEARING: The Town Board has accepted the DGEIS as complete for purposes of commencing public review. The Town Board has scheduled a SEQRA public hearing on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 7:00 PM, which hearing will be held in-person at Town Hall at 237 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. At the public hearing, the Town’s consultants will provide an overview of the Action and the DGEIS, and to receive and record questions and comments from the public for purposes of preparing a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement. The Town Board invites the public in general, and involved/interested agencies in particular, to provide written comments during the public comment period.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT on that date, the Town Board will also conduct:
1) Pursuant to Town Law 272-a, a public hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments and updates, described in the DGEIS, and
2) Pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule Law and Chapter 376 of the Town Code, a public hearing on the proposed Zoning Amendments, as described and set forth in Appendix J and K and discussed in section 6.7 of the DGEIS.
