NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

(Petition for Annexation of property from Town of Ramapo to Village of New Square)

 

           PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, that a Petition, dated June 20, 2025, pursuant to Article 17, “Municipal Annexation Law, “ of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York has been received by the Town Board of the Town of Ramapo, Rockland County, New York and by the Village Board of Trustees of the incorporated Village of New Square, Rockland County, New York of the lands owned by the persons and/or entities set forth below as follows:

           NOW, THEREFORE, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Joint Public Hearing conducted by the Town of Ramapo and the Village of New Square will be held on the 10th day of September 2025, at 7:15 p.m. at the Town of Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern, New York in person and virtually by phone. See the Town of Ramapo website at https://www.ramapo.org/ for more information.

 

at which time, or as soon thereafter as practicable, all persons interested therein shall be heard and to hear testimony and receive evidence and information concerning (1) whether the proposed annexation to the Village of New Square is in the over-all public interest and (2) the propriety of the Petition of the petitioners above requesting such annexation. Objections based on any of the grounds set forth in paragraphs “a,” “b,” “c,” or “d” of subdivision 1 of Section 705 of the General Municipal Law shall, in addition to oral testimony thereon, be submitted in writing.
