Ramapo Parks Foundation

Seeking to improve the community in which we live...

TO LEAVE A LEGACY...

A LEGACY OF PRESERVATION...

A LEGACY OF CHILDREN AT PLAY...

A LEGACY OF A BETTER COMMUNITY

WHY?

The values a community holds dear are often reflected in it's efforts to preserve it's natural environment, and provide recreational opportunities for it's children, families and seniors.

This is your opportunity to see what you and the Ramapo Parks Foundation can do to have a lasting effect of those values.

OUR DIRECTION
The biggest selling point any community can offer its present and future residents is the quality of life it provides. That quality of life is often reflected in its park facilities and recreation programs. If you doubt that, just look at any marketing material for any new subdivision or planned community, it will surely highlight nearby parks, and available recreational opportunities.

Communities have come to rely on their local government to provide these facilities and services... but times have changed... the need grows, and greater investment must be made, but not at the continual expense of burdening the taxpayer...IT IS TIME TO BE CREATIVE.

THE MISSION
The Ramapo Parks Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in our community by:

Seeking donations of funds and/or property and receiving gifts and bequests for securing open space for preservation and park development.

Soliciting contributions and grants for recreation facility development and parks improvements, throughout the town, as well as helping to sustain program services for youth, families and seniors.

Educating the citizens and businesses of Ramapo and the surrounding community about the importance of these services, and promoting the needs, programs, and facilities provided by the Department of Parks and Recreation.

THE GOAL
To access grant funding not normally available to government agencies from existing foundations.

To attract donors, who may wish to leave a legacy and improve the quality of life in the community in which they have lived or worked, but who would more readily do so through a non-profit foundation than a government agency.

To finance the development of new facilities through independent capital bond underwriting and creative revenue development utilizing the tools of traditional private-sector business planning.
