BIG SCREEN CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL

    The Town of Ramapo Big Screen Classic Film Festival began its eighth season on March 13th, at the Lafayette Theater in Suffern, starting at 11:30 AM. This popular series gives moviegoers the unique opportunity to experience classic films, in the glory of 35mm film on the silver screen. All films are uncut and presented in 35mm prints direct from the studio vault.

    

     The Lafayette Theater was recently named one of the “Ten Great Classic Movie Theaters in America” by USA Today. This 1924 movie palace has been completely renovated and restored by Nelson Page, CEO of the Galaxy Theater Corporation. On Friday, March 5th, the Lafayette will become one of the oldest single screen theaters in the U.S. to have 3-D Digital capability with the screening of Disney’s Alice In Wonderland.


     All films begin at 11:30 AM at the Lafayette Theater in downtown Suffern, New York. A pre-film Wurlitzer Organ Concert begins 11:00 AM, every Saturday. Ramapo Seniors are admitted free of charge to all Big Screen Classic movies. All other tickets are priced at $7.00.

 


     The Lafayette Theater is one of the last operating movie palaces in the United States, our Classic Film Festival attracts hundreds of enthusiastic classic film fans from throughout the metropolitan area.
