Haitian Relief Coordination Efforts

Haitian Relief Coordination Efforts

The earthquake that devastated Haiti yesterday and caused massive damage is a disaster that affects us all.

The Town of Ramapo, together with Haitian Community Organizations, Civic Groups, and local, state and national officials, is mobilizing efforts to extend our assistance.

An Information Help Desk has been activated to disseminate information over Ramapo FIOS Channel 32 and Cablevision; by telephone at 845-357-0102, and on the Town of Ramapo website.

Town Clerk Christian G. Sampson will coordinate the Help Desk.  If anyone wishes to contribute to the relief effort, please call his office at 845-357-5100 x263.

Medical supplies and cash donations are immediate priorities.

I have been in contact with U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office, U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel's office, and the Haitian Consulate, who have expressed their willingness to help in the relief effort.

While we await specific details of the tragedy, my prayers are with those who have loved ones in Haiti.

Sincerely yours,

Christopher P. St. Lawrence

Supervisor

Town of Ramapo
