Edward Friedman

A resident of Rockland County for 36 years, Ed has over 25 years experience as an elected official. Originally a trustee in the Village of Spring Valley for seven years,  Ed was first elected as a Ramapo Town Councilman in November, 1987. Among his accomplishments are fighting for tenant rights in the Village of Spring Valley; helping to create a new, fair master plan in Ramapo; strengthening Ramapo's Financial Disclosure and Ethics Law; opposing unfunded state mandates thrust upon Ramapo by NYS;  opposing the construction of power plants in the Torne Valley and preserving open space.  Ed is a widower, with two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
