    The Holiday Season is off to a rousing start in the Town of Ramapo. On November 19th, over 1,000 people attended the “Salute to Veterans” Concert, featuring the world renowned U.S. Military Academy Concert Band.

    A national study released today has named the Town of Ramapo the Safest Community in the U.S. The Annual City Crime Rankings 2008-2009 published by the CQ Press looked at 397 municipal areas having populations of at least 75,000 residents.

  • Town Board Adopts ZERO Tax Increase Budget 2009

    Having the Town’s fiscal house in order provided the Town Board with the ability to adopt a 2009 Budget which meets two main objectives: 1) A zero tax increase to help our hardworking taxpayers cope with the economic emergency that exists; 2) Maintain the Town’s outstanding services and programs.

  • U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY CONCERT BAND PERFORMS ON NOVEMBER 23RD

    The Town of Ramapo and the P.F.C. Frederick Hecht Post #425 of the Jewish War Veterans will present a gala “Salute to the Veterans” Concert on Sunday, November 23rd at Suffern High School, featuring the world renowned U.S. Military Academy Concert Band. Over the years this 48 member music ensemble has earned the reputation of being among the finest of its kind in the world. The Band’s events annually attract thousands of visitors to the Academy to hear the finest in contemporary and traditional concert band literature. The program will begin at 2:00 P.M., at Suffern High School, 49 Viola Road, Suffern, New York. The Concert will also be simulcast on Radio Rockland WRCR Radio AM 1300, and broadcast on-line at www.wrcr.com over the web.

  • HISTORIC OPEN SPACE ACQUISITION HERALDS THE START OF GO GREEN RAMAPO

    The Town of Ramapo has formally taken ownership of a 55 acre parcel in Sloatsburg known as Liberty Rock. The $2.75 million dollar purchase includes three properties: 35 Post Road and 93 and 105 Orange Turnpike (Route 17), which are off the west side of the highway opposite Seven Lakes Drive.
